32 miles, elevation 1250 feet. For intermediate and advanced riders. Scenic, low-traffic roads with a few hills.

This is a great way to kick off your early Spring riding! We'll enjoy the beauty of the Montgomery County Agriculture Reserve as we ride by fields of winter wheat, horses enjoying milder weather and quiet woods with views of Sugarloaf Mountain in the distance. Hopefully, we'll have a sunny day!

This is a no- drop ride, with a leader and a sweep and no one will be left behind.

After completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with additional event details and start location. If you don't see it, check your junk mail folder.

There is limited space, so please register early. Although this ride is FREE for Members, you do need to register.

5 miles that are suitable for all levels of hikers.

Rock Creek Park offers a surprisingly wild escape in the heart of Washington, D.C., with miles of wooded trails that wind along the creek, climb gentle ridges, and pass historic sites.

A one story building nestled among green leafy trees

We'll hike a variety of trails from easy riverside strolls to more rugged, root‑laced paths that feel far removed from the city. Shaded by towering white oaks and tulip poplars, the trails provide peaceful views, abundant wildlife, and a refreshing sense of solitude—making the park one of the region’s most beloved urban hiking destinations.

Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for white-tailed deer or the bright flash of a Northern Cardinal. The trail is well-marked, though it can get quite muddy after a good rain. Because of the rolling hills and natural dirt paths, wearing sturdy sneakers or hiking boots is a great idea to keep you steady.

As with all WWO hikes, there will be a leader and a sweep, and no one will be left behind.

After you complete your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with additional event details and start location.

There is limited space, so please register early. Although this hike is FREE for Premium Members, you do need to register.

Join the WWO Virtual Book Club & Social!  Offered virtually so all can join, we gather quarterly to socialize and discuss a book around the theme of women in the outdoors.

This quarter’s book is Changing Gears by Sequoia Schmidt:

Returning home for the first time in ten years, Sequoia Schmidt sets out to complete a 28 day solo cycle of New Zealand. This will be her first time home since the death of her father and brother in a tragic climbing accident. Changing Gears describes Sequoia's experiences with grief, loss and recovery, interwoven with adventures on the roads of New Zealand as she returns home to reconnect with Aotearoa and herself.

Come join a community of women who share the outdoors in all ways possible!   The Zoom logon information will be provided to you in an email the day before the meeting.

Although this event is FREE for Members, please register!
