Bicycle Ride: Baltimore and Annapolis Rail Trail

32 miles on a flat, tree-lined paved trail --  a great ride in the summertime. For Advanced Beginners and above.


This ride is on the Baltimore and Annapolis (B&A) Trail that follows the route of freight and passenger service started in 1880 between Annapolis and Baltimore. Today, the 112-acre “linear park” winds through parks, neighborhoods and natural wooded areas between Glen Burnie and Annapolis. Along the trail there are historical markers, well as displays for the sun and planets.  We'll begin our ride on the Glen Burnie end at the Dixon Observation Park where we'll have a great view of the BWI runways and the planes taking off and landing.  We'll stop for ice cream and cold drinks on along the route. Those wanting a longer route can add the 10.5 mile loop around the airport at the end. This ride is for advanced beginners and above. All types of bikes are suitable for the ride. As with all our rides, we will have a leader and sweep and no one will be left behind.
