2.3 miles, suitable for all levels. Bluebells, with their delicate, nodding blooms, add a touch of enchantment to the trail.
Break up the monotony of the work week by joining me for a short hike at Riverbend Park. The combination of trails takes us along the Potomac River on the Potomac Heritage trail surrounded by Bluebells, Dutchman's Breeches, and other wildflowers, then through a mix of forest and open spaces.
This hike is suitable for beginners. Depending on the weather patterns, Bluebells begin to emerge late March and early April. Riverbend is a sanctuary for wildlife and native plants and the only Fairfax County Park that lies on the Potomac River.
As with all WWO hikes, there will be a leader and a sweep, and no one will be left behind.
After you complete your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with additional event details and start location.
There is limited space, so please register early. Although this hike is FREE for Premium Members, you do need to register.
