A scenic trail along the Potomac River that will lead us to 3 magnificent viewpoints of Great Falls.

This is an out-and-back trail that runs parallel to the Potomac River and is essentially a dirt path which can get muddy at times. As we make our way to Great Falls we'll be surrounded by sycamores and oaks. Keep an eye out for herons, ducks, and occasionally, eagles. We will have a little rock scramble and be crossing a couple wooden bridges before reaching the falls. There are three overlooks to visit and take photos. Bathrooms are available but the Visitors Center is closed for remodeling. 

Leashed dogs are welcome on this hike. They should be well behaved, fully vaccinated and on tick preventative medication. Your dog must remain on a leash no longer then 6 feet at all times. Thank you!

As with all WWO hikes, there will be a leader and a sweep, and no one will be left behind.
