Log-In
The White Rock Cliff hike, with the spectacular Opa Overlook, is a great loop hike in the Great North Mountain area. This hike has streams, great diversity in flora, and sublime solitude. On a clear day you can see all the way to the Shenandoah National Park from the Opa Overlook. This area was originally settled by Germans in the 1730s, with German and Scots-Irish migrants moving from the Pennsylvania area.
All trip details including equipment list, meetup spot and driving directions will be provided by email the week before the trip. WWO has a limited amount of backpacking equipment to lend as a member benefit.
