This is a short easy hike with a beautiful overlook to the west, followed by a potluck picnic at the nearby country home of one of our members.  Also, a fun way to burn off some calories we might be eating later at the picnic!  Starting at the parking lot off Rt. 7, this out and back begins with a gentle climb along the Appalachian Trail to the Bears Den Overlook. There’s an optional loop surrounding the Bears Den Trail Center we can explore before heading back.  After the hike, we’ll make a short drive to the picnic location. Information about the picnic will be provided the week before.
