Big Run Loop in southern Shenandoah National Park offers an incredible sampling of what the park has to offer – solitude, rocky ridges, trout streams, river crossings, and forested valleys. Following a 13 mile loop and setting up camp each night, this is a vigorous backpack with a balance of strenuous climbs and amazing views in one of the more serene areas of the park.  The Big Run watershed is the largest in Shenandoah National Park and offers excellent fishing and is a wonderful area to explore.

All trip details including equipment list, meetup spot and driving directions will be provided by email the week before the trip. WWO has a limited amount of backpacking equipment to lend as a member benefit. This trip is Friday morning to Sunday afternoon.

There is a Park Entry Fee:  Single Vehicle $30 unless you have a SNP Annual Pass or America the Beautiful Annual Pass.
