38.6 miles, 1584 elevation.  Lightly trafficked roads on rolling hills with a few short climbs. Suitable for intermediate and advanced riders.

Nanjemoy MD is a large area in southern Maryland bounded by the Nanjemoy Creek to the east and the Potomac River to the south and west.  The sparsely settled area, originally inhabited by Native Americans, includes farms and protected wild areas along the Potomac River shore. But the real highlights of the ride are the quiet, nearly traffic free wooded rural roads, and the mile after mile of shade and short, fast rollers with views of swamps and streams.  Our rest stop will be at Mallows Bay Park, home of the Ghost Fleet of sunken wooden cargo ships built for World War I but never used. Near the end, the route passes by Old Durham Church, one of the oldest (1732) surviving Episcopal church buildings in the state of MD.
